The GROMS project has been supported by the German Federal Ministry of the Environment (BMU) from 1997 to 2002 through the Federal Agency of Nature Conservation (BfN) (total funding sum: 500 000 Euros). It is now continued under the aegis of CMS, and hosted by the Museum Koenig.
The Online database version was developed by Ingo Raufuß,
using php and a mySQL version of the GROMS database.
It was re-designed by Eva Heuel in January 2004.
