Spizaetus nipalensis

Mainly sedentary; however, fairly common in lowlands of Thailand in winter, and a few individuals, possibly juveniles, have been recorded in Malay Peninsula and in lowlands of Japan. Erroneously recorded on spring passage at Beidaihe (NE China), probably due to confusion with Pernis ptilorhyncus. Many birds claimed to move S onto Gangetic Plain.
