Fulmarus glacialis

N populations migratory, retreating S as sea freezes over, and mostly absent Nov-Feb. Further S dispersive, ranging widely, but not usually reaching zones of warm water; regularly occurs S to Baja California. Young birds may make transoceanic crossings and generally wander further than adults, which are less mobile. Has occured in Mediterranean, at Madeira and far inland in Czechoslovakia.
